The second biggest sale of the year, REI's Gear Up Get Out sale aims to inspire members and other consumers to get outside—despite the ever-shortening daylight hours of November. As the designer on this catalog project, my goal was to punctuate the darker months of the year with a burst of color and inspiring imagery to represent the hottest deals of the season. Working closely with the studio team, I art-directed product laydowns later bringing these images into the catalog layouts I created.
